Who could have made this up? Dave Lynch remembers his first experience of watching Twin Peaks as lifechanging, not least because of the shared name with the famed director! He first watched Twin Peaks on smuggled VHS contraband as a precocious young teen, from then on his career as an artist/film maker seemed to predestined!
Micheale Spessa is an artist/curator who works in sculpture, film and installation that focuses on revealing the complex structure of stories. She has curated shows in Australia, London and Leeds and programmed film, burlesque and live illustration at festivals and independent events. What’s more she’s a bit handy and is busy plotting how she’s gonna to turn 20 metres of red velvet drape into a darkly surreal lodge…question is will they glide silently?
Emma Bearman is the founder of web based cultural lustings site The Culture Vulture amongst a multitude of other stuff. Recently whilst watching morning television (otherwise known as multitasking) old crush Kyle Machlachan appeared reminding her that twenty years had passed in a flash. A quick check on twitter convinced her there were many Twin Peaks Freaks desperate to relive their nostalgia, and reacquaint themselves with the new gold box set. A quick call to Dave Lynch confirmed this hunch, and a plan developed to put on a darkly surreal event…
All three are resident in the awesome grade 1 listed former Flax Mill Temple Works, once the largest single room in Europe (1839) if not the Universe. It”s quirky spaces are just begging to be turned into sets from Twin Peaks….
Along the way this fundraising event has attracted some great friends who have sweated behind the scenes to help realise the vision…
Ben McKenna of Totaal created the website and has had a fair hand in the social media side of stuff
Tyler Massey (singer/songwriter/artist) designed the graphics
